For the first time, Common Smartcard member MICROS-Fidelio GmbH has implemented a fully integrated, cloud-based solution for community catering at catering and hospitality service provider Arena One, with all components coming from a single source.
The goal in this context was a cashless payment option for company employees, individual visitors and guests. The integration of coffee machines, controlling via a central control module and a system that can be expanded for the future are also part of this. The heart of the catering solution is the microsCard. This is used for cashless payment transactions and thus facilitates quick consumption on the premises.
The microsCard was equipped with the open card data structure openCashfile of the Industrieverband für einheitliche Smartcard-Lösungen e.V.. This enabled all project participants to work according to the same structures. After completion of the project, Arena One was given sovereignty over the access keys. This significantly reduced the system complexity. Already today, more than 70% of the turnover is generated via the cashless payment system – for the future, this area in particular is to be expanded even further.
Together with mymicros.net (online reporting portal), the microsCard offers every flexibility in terms of administration and controlling. The mymicros.net online portal ensures that an overview of all locations is available at all times. Sales figures, consumption, evaluations and statistics are available to the responsible employees at the push of a button – controlling can manage centrally and company decisions are based on a stable foundation.
The openCashfile solution is available for both MIFARE Desfire® and LEGIC® advant and can therefore be used interoperably. Thus, openCashfile covers all market-relevant chip types for security applications.
