From 24 to 26 September 2015, the Eu’Vend trade fair in Cologne opened its doors once again. With over 5,000 trade visitors from 59 countries, the event recorded a slight growth in visitor numbers. The industry association for uniform smartcard solutions Common Smartcard also presented itself to the expert audience together with the member companies ventopay, Hug-Witschi, CashControl Kassensysteme, EVIS, Automaten Seitz and TCPOS.
The focus was on the “barrier-free” interaction of vending machine and card on the basis of standardised card data structures. The industry association demonstrated at its stand how practical standardised data structures are for RFID projects. Each member company received contactless smart cards with the uniform openCashfile coding in advance of the event. In this way, visitors to the stand were able to discover all the offers of the exhibiting member companies with just one card. The campaign proved to be successful. Numerous fair participants informed themselves about the products of our member companies, which support the uniform card data structure of Common Smartcard.
In terms of innovations, our member Hug-Witschi AG also scored points at this year’s VendingStar, which is awarded by Eu’Vend every two years for smart product ideas. The Swiss company was honoured in the category of aids for the operation of vending machines for the product “DeLight – Controlled Vending”. The reader consists of a powerful controller with integrated read/write electronics of the latest generation (Legic SM4200) and a remote antenna for front installation. All common technologies in communal catering are processed. An all-round successful system for all applications.
