With PAV, another card manufacturer became a member of the Industry Association for Common Smartcard Solutions e.V. on 1 January 2013. The family-owned company is thus the 19th member to join Common Smartcard. PAV is a manufacturer of card and RFID solutions in Germany. These include, for example, heat-resistant ID cards, contactless employee ID cards for numerous DAX companies and contactless cards for access control. In addition, PAV supports many companies in the development and production of initial samples and supplies a large number of European, African and Asian countries with passport and ID card inlays.
“The membership of Common Smartcard has a special meaning for us. As one of the leading card manufacturers in Germany, we have an interest in uniform data structures in RFID projects. Especially in security applications, where LEGIC Advant or MIFARE Desfire are usually used, the customer often finds unclear structures. This makes it difficult to change products or providers. Uniform standards, on the other hand, create more transparency and greater freedom of choice,” explains Marcus Stamer, Key Account Manager at PAV.
Walter Neuhaus, Chairman of the Board of Common Smartcard, welcomes PAV on behalf of all members: “The great interest in our work and the broadly based product segment were the decisive points for the inclusion of PAV. We are pleased to be able to further strengthen the association with PAV.”
